Two Stage Stochastic Linear Programming with Gams
This document shows how to model two-stage stochastic linear programming problems in a GAMS environment. We will demonstrate using a small example, how GAMS can be used to formulate and solve this model as a large LP or using specialized stochastic solvers such as OSL-SE and DECIS. Finally a tailored implementation of the Benders Decomposition algorithm written in GAMS is used to solve the model.
متن کاملReconfiguration of Supply Chain: A Two Stage Stochastic Programming
In this paper, we propose an extended relocation model for warehouses configuration in a supply chain network, in which uncertainty is associated to operational costs, production capacity and demands whereas, existing researches in this area are often restricted to deterministic environments. In real cases, we usually deal with stochastic parameters and this point justifies why the relocation m...
متن کامل2-stage stochastic linear programming
We consider the other direction: the 2-stage stochastic programming problem (or also called stochastic recourse problem). Conceptually one should think of the decision process taking place in two stages. In the first, values for the first stage variables x are chosen. In the second, upon a realisation of the random parameters, a recourse action is to be taken in case of infeasibilities. Costs a...
متن کاملA multi-stage stochastic programming for condition-based maintenance with proportional hazards model
Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) optimization using Proportional Hazards Model (PHM) is a kind of maintenance optimization problem in which inspections of a system relevant to its failure rate depending on the age and value of covariates are performed in time intervals. The general approach for constructing a CBM based on PHM for a system is to minimize a long run average cost per unit of time...
متن کاملMulti-stage Stochastic Linear Programming: Scenarios Versus Events
To solve the multi-stage linear programming problem, one may use a deterministic or a stochastic approach. The drawbacks of the two techniques are well known: the deterministic approach is unrealistic under uncertainty and the stochastic approach suffers from scenario explosion. We introduce a new scheme, whose objective is to overcome both drawbacks. The focus of this new scheme is on events i...
